Missions Monday: Buck Run Supported Orphanage Breaks Ground on New Dormitory

The Children First Foundation was created four years ago to minister to orphans in the Croix-des-Bouquets village of Haiti. Many of them are orphans due to the 2010 earth quake in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. There are thousands of children yet to be rescued, all of whom are hungry every day and in need of clean water, education, medical attention, and a safe place to live. Children First is providing the CCH Orphanage children ample food daily, purified water, running water for showers and flush toilets. In addition, all children are provided a quality education, medical services with a full time trained nurse.

40 orphans are currently being served by Children First. In order to meet the needs of more orphans, a Buck Run mission team recently began construction on a new dorm that will nearly double the number of orphans that the orphanage can serve. Construction of the dormitory is expected to be completed within a year.

How to Serve Children First

  1. Manual labor with or without construction experience is needed to continue building of the dormitory. Contact Bill Nallia, President of Children First, if you have any interest and for more information.
  2. Consider making a financial gift to help with the purchase of supplies needed to build the dormitory.

How to Pray for Children First

  1. Pray for workers to volunteer for a future trip so that construction can continue on the dormitory.
  2. Pray for the physical and spiritual well being of the orphans in Croix-des-Bouquets.
