Missions Monday: Serve Frankfort Exhibits Christ’s Love to the State Capital
Buck Run Baptist Church exists to glorify God by proclaiming Jesus Christ in order to make disciples who serve their community and spread the gospel to the nations. Our Serve Frankfort initiative helps us to do just that. Three times a year we send teams all across our community to serve in a variety of capacities. Because we believe that Jesus commands us to love our neighbors we want to serve Frankfort however we can. We serve not just because it’s a nice thing to do, but because we ultimately want God to be glorified (1 Pet. 2:12).
Projects
Our teams normally go out in groups of 10-20 for about 4 hours. They work to diligently complete any tasks they’ve been given while looking for opportunities to share the Gospel.
We are constantly looking for new ways to tangibly show the love of Christ in Frankfort. These are just some of the projects we’ve previously completed for Serve Frankfort:
- Landscaping/painting/cleaning at local schools (Elkhorn Elementary, FCHS, 2nd St. Elementary, Bridgeport Elementary)
- Cleaning and serving lunch at Access Men’s Shelter
- Landscaping and cleaning at Simon House Women’s Shelter
- Cleaning at Avenue’s for Women
- Handing out care packages for local first responders
- School supplies give away for single moms
- Block parties for local neighborhoods
- Visiting residents at local nursing homes
These projects, and others like them, have allowed us to not only show the love of Jesus but have given us opportunities to share the reason for the hope we have in Christ (1 Pet. 3:15).
How to Pray for SERVE FRANKFORT
- Pray that the Lord would open doors for service in more places around our community.
- Pray for opportunities to share the Gospel with those we serve.
- Pray that our service would honor the Lord and cause others to bring Him glory.
How to Serve SERVE FRANKFORT
Serve Frankfort happens three times each year: spring, summer, and fall. Our next Serve Frankfort is coming up on July 29th. You can look HERE for upcoming projects and sign up.
