Pastor Letter: September 6, 2018

Dear Buck Run:

I am writing to ask a big favor. Would you join Tanya and me for dinner at the church on September 21 at 6pm to hear one of the most amazing stories in the history of modern missions? Would you be willing to spend a portion of one evening to celebrate how God has used Buck Run—and continues to do so—to start one of the most successful church planting efforts in the last 100 years?

Sometimes we are so awed by what we see God do here at home that we lose sight of His mighty work among the nations.  While even now we are experiencing one of the greatest moves of God in our church’s life in our relocation and planting a church in Colorado, we have another part of His great work that we celebrate and must continue to support. The Romanian American Mission (RAM) was founded under the leadership of my predecessor, Dr. Bob Jackson, in 1996. God used Buck Run to birth a mission movement that has planted over 400 churches throughout Europe and is planting more churches even as I write. I have traveled and participated in missions all over the world, and I have not seen anything like it, particularly in Europe, one of the hardest places to plant churches.

Will you please join Tanya and me at Buck Run on Friday night, September 21 at 6pm, to attend the RAM banquet where we will celebrate what God has done and hear more about current opportunities for involvement?

With Buck Run, as well as with RAM, I celebrate the Biblical truth “that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).   There is no question that God began a good work through us as we started RAM.  The question that begs to be answered is this: Will you join Him in His work through RAM?

In Christ Jesus,

Hershael W York
