Pastor Letter: June 5, 2019

Buck Run Family,

We are entering into a great season of ministry here at Buck Run. There are two upcoming things I want you to be aware of.

First, Vacation Bible School is coming up June 17-21. What an awesome opportunity we have each year to pour into the lives of the next generation. Let’s pray that seeds would be planted and children would hear the good news of the Gospel! We should consider this ministry a great privilege and enormous stewardship. Who have you invited? What neighbors, friends, and family can you invite to hear the Gospel? Frankfort has no shortage of families that need the hope of Christ. We must be faithful to bring the light of Christ to our city. If you’ve not found a place to serve, there is still a place for you. You can contact our Kids Ministry Director, Melanie Brewer, at [email protected].

Second, this Sunday, June 9, we are offering 3 different “One-Shot” Adult Discipleship classes.

Identity Theft | Jennifer Whittaker | Room 103
“Who am I?” So often, we find our answer to this question in our jobs, our relationships, our personalities, or our popularity. This class will help you to ask and answer a far more important question: “Who does the Bible tell me I am in Christ?”

Enduring Evangelism: Responding to Rejection in Gospel Conversations | Matt Morvay | Room 101
What do you do when someone doesn’t respond to the gospel the way you hoped? This class will help you learn how to respond to resistant and hesitant unbelievers in evangelistic conversations.

Why Am I a Southern Baptist? | Scott Riessen | Sanctuary
Buck Run is a Southern Baptist church, but what does that even mean? This class will examine the distinctive commitments and objectives of the Southern Baptist Convention.

I hope you’ll take advantage of these opportunities to learn and grow.

Christopher Parrish
