A Testimony to Buck Run’s Faithfulness
In September of 2017, Buck Run mobilized to serve the city of Houston in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey. Our efforts focused on ministering at Farrington Mission, an inner-city ministry of Northeast Houston Baptist Church. Farrington Mission ministers to the members of Houston’s 5th Ward community. The mission consists of a food pantry, clothes closet, and a crisis pregnancy center. Flooding from Hurricane Harvey closed Farrington Mission, particularly the crisis pregnancy center. All of the medical equipment within the facility including the ultrasound machine were ruined. When word of this reached Buck Run, the church collected money, food, and clothes and sent these supplies to Houston with two teams that were also sent. These teams worked hard to get the pregnancy center operational again through demo, sheetrock work, and painting.
