Serve Frankfort is a Buck Run initiative to meet the needs of those in our community, forming relationships with them as we show them the love of Jesus Christ. During this time of the pandemic, we have shifted from community workdays to a myriad of projects aimed at meeting specific needs. Current projects are listed below.
Our next Serve Frankfort project is going to be a blood drive on Thursday, October 15 from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM at the American Red Cross Diagnostic Drive location (106 Diagnostic Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601). The American Red Cross is poised to collect only a third of what they collected last year, making each donation important as a lot of the donated blood is used for hospital trauma centers. The American Red Cross will be screening each blood donation to check for COVID-19 antibodies, so this would also be a great way to know if you have the antibodies to fight against COVID-19. Feel free to email Pastor Matt Morvay if you have any difficulties or questions. If you have questions about your eligibility as a donor, you can call the Red Cross at 1 (866) 236-3276
Northpoint Training Center is a medium-security prison in Central Kentucky with 1,200 inmates. They have asked Buck Run to stock their library with theological books. You can help get a Christ-centered book into this prison by purchasing a book through the link below. Buck Run will order and ship the books to the prison.
