New Classes Begin

August 16 @ 10:00 am - 10:45 am

Cross, Tomb, & Glory [Christian Doctrine Track] | Art Nitz | Room 101

This class will be an overview of the work of Christ: what he has accomplished in his death, resurrection, and ascension. Our goal is to grow in understanding of Jesus’ mission so that we might delight in him more deeply and proclaim what he has done more passionately. Join Art to consider the biblical testimony concerning Jesus’ work in the grand drama of redemption.

Making Disciples [Christian Formation Track] | Ben Pinkston | Room 102

A disciple is a follower and a learner. Jesus has commanded us to be disciples who make disciples (Matthew 4:19, 28:18-20). But what does it look like for us to help each other follow him? What will be taking place in our church if we are all disciple makers? Join Ben to hear a biblical invitation to intentional relationships that are centered on obeying and proclaiming the gospel.

Abide: A Study in John 15 [Women’s Class] | Hannah Parrish | Room 103

In John 15, Jesus repeatedly calls us to abide. Over six weeks, we’ll study this chapter, examine what we’re called to abide in, and discuss practical ways to live it out.

Discover Buck Run | Will Morris | Room 100

This class offers an introduction to Buck Run and our mission, vision, and expectations for members. Launch yourself into ministry and get plugged in. This is a fantastic way to really get connected to the life and ministry of Buck Run. It is also a step in the membership process for those wanting to join Buck Run.

By the Water: James | Frank Benton | Sanctuary

Gather “by the water” (the section of sanctuary seats nearest the baptistry) to participate in a study through James. Drawing heavily on the teachings of Jesus, James issues an intensely practical call for faith that works. Discipleship to Jesus will necessarily transform how we experience difficulty, speak, care for each other, and respond to the Scripture. “Faith” that does not produce this kind of fruit is dead. Join Frank to be reminded how the gospel calls us to live differently in this world as a reflection of the Lordship of Christ.
