Protection Policies

At Buck Run, we take seriously our responsibility to protect every child and student entrusted to our care. Our Child and Volunteer Protection Policy outlines the standards and practices we hold ourselves to in order to keep our ministries safe for kids, families, and volunteers alike.

CHILD AND VOLUNTEER PROTECTION POLICY

Buck Run wants to offer a safe and secure environment for kids, students, and families who participate in our ministry activities. Our goal in laying out these policies and practices is to protect the children, students, families, and volunteers of our church from incidents of misconduct or inappropriate behavior while also protecting our staff and volunteers from false accusations. The Child and Volunteer Protection Policy is developed and reviewed annually by our Protection Policy Team, which consists of Heather Wilkes, Denise Johnson, Enoch Welch, Leigh Ann Maglinger, Will Morris, and Scott Riessen.

Child and volunteer protection policy

The Child and Volunteer Protection Policy lays out our church’s policies on who can serve with minors, what procedures are put in place to protect the minors and volunteers of the church, and how we would respond if an emergency happened.

Kids Ministry Version

This version of our policy includes all facets of the policy that pertain to our ministry of babies through 5th grade and their volunteers. All Kids Ministry leaders receive this material and are trained in it to ensure that Buck Run offers a safe and welcoming environment to minister to all of the children in our care.

Student Ministry Version

This version of our policy includes all facets of the policy that pertain to our ministry of 6th-12th graders and their volunteers. All Student Ministry leaders receive this material and are trained in it to ensure that Buck Run offers a safe and welcoming environment to minister to all of the teenagers in our care.

Community Group version

Our responsibility to care for and protect children extends beyond the walls of our building. Though most of our Community Groups meet in the homes of our members, our groups that offer childcare implement the practices and procedures of the Community Group version of our policy.
