Pastor Letter: April 10, 2019

Dear Buck Run Family:

When I think of who we are as a church, I think of a people who are unashamedly committed to following Christ, regardless of the cost. Our church has sacrificially given in obedience to Christ, engaged in missions around the world for the glory of Christ, and served in various capacities to make disciples of Christ. Buck Run Baptist Church truly exemplifies what a church that loves Jesus ought to look like.

Now, our pastoral staff has presented a new initiative to proclaim Christ in our community called Reach Frankfort. Reach Frankfort is a church-wide initiative to partner together, taking the gospel from house to house until we have been to every home in our immediate community. We will gather together at the church THIS SATURDAY to split into groups of two to three people, go to designated locations around Frankfort, and interact with our neighbors for the purpose of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with them.

We have been in our new church building on Leestown Road for almost three years and thousands of people drive by our building every single day. However, while people may have a familiarity with where our church is physically, they often have great fear when it comes to stepping into a church for the first time. That’s why we, as the church, want to be proactive in stepping out to them. We want to meet our community wherever they are and tell them that we are a church that is here for them.

The goal of Reach Frankfort is not to just merely hand out a bunch of information and call it a day. Our goal is to Reach Frankfort with the gospel, targeting specific houses every time we gather together in the hope that we will be able to share the Gospel with every home in the city.

I would ask that you would pray specifically for Reach Frankfort this week. Here are some specific ways that you can be praying:

  1. Pray for our people to have a burden for the lost in our community and to participate in Reach Frankfort
  2. Pray for the Lord to open doors of the houses that will be visited for his gospel to be declared
  3. Pray for the Lord to grant us boldness and wisdom in sharing the gospel with unbelievers
  4. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open the minds and hearts of the unbelievers to understand and be open to the gospel.
  5. Pray for the Lord to bring about much fruit in the lives of hundreds of people as a result of Reach Frankfort.

I would ask you to consider taking another step out of your comfort zone in faith THIS SATURDAY at 9:00 AM and join us as we intentionally go out into our community for the sake of the gospel and for the love of our neighbors. Please visit the app or our website for additional information and training for this event. I’m grateful for you as a church and anticipate all that the Lord is going to do through us this Saturday.

In Christ,

Matt Morvay
